On the evening of January 29th, brave adventurers gathered for a night of exploration. Deep within the Junction, three destinations embodied community building and engagement. From south “Petti Fine Food” to north “Bevi Birra” and west “Venga Cucina”, these Italian pillars were waiting for explorers, and they came. Traveling from as far as the northern region of Newmarket, they united for a night of connection, learning, and rewards, descending to join the World of Tahpin for the Italian Adventure: An Evening of Flavor and Connection in the Junction..

Our gathering began at Bevi Birra, where we met Dan, one of the owners. Founded by friends who share a love for craft beer, Bevi Birra understands the craftsmanship required to create unique flavors for the community and has built relationships with breweries all over Ontario. Located on the northeast corner of Quebec Ave & Dundas St West, Bevi Birra offers custom-curated Ontario craft beers served alongside homemade focaccia sandwiches.
Adventurers, prepare to enjoy the delightful taste of bread that’s lovingly cared for before baking each day. With a soft, tasty interior and a crunchy exterior with a hint of saltiness, it pairs excellently with the great selection of beer and wine from around the province.
Bevi is a fantastic spot for adventurers to gather, offering something for everyone throughout the day..

Next, we traveled south to a store that truly embodies community spirit. With a warm greeting and an offer of free fresh hot chocolate or espresso, Petti Fine Foods is an ideal place to get freshly crafted pasta for your journey. Since 2022, Petti has welcomed travelers seeking an assortment of Italian delights. But that’s not all you’ll find here. With just three simple ingredients—love, passion, and commitment—the Junction boasts a shop dedicated to both its community and fellow craftsmen. Along with great stories and engagements, Petti Fine Foods has been actively supporting the community through multiple events and the cross-promotion of various Junction businesses. Run by a father-and-son duo, Petti and its staff provide a refreshing stop for adventurers, fostering a warm sense of home as you stock up on your inventory.

Lastly, we arrived at an establishment known for culinary mastery that not only specializes in Italian Pinsa Romana making but also embraces the ever-changing world of innovations and new tools. We made our way to Venga Cucina. As you step through the doors, you are transported to a refined, warm, and comforting interior where travelers are greeted by friendly staff. That night, all myths were put to rest as we met Gino, who shared his story of overcoming many challenges and hardships. One thing was clear: the founder of Venga Cucina, Gino Benevenga, has a passion for his craft that continues to shine brightly as he shares his journey with his beloved partner. You will often find Gino walking through the restaurant each night, welcoming every traveler to connect, share stories, and enjoy a taste of Italy in the warm ambiance of Venga Cucina.

As our evening journey came to a close, we reflected on these three Italian businesses within the Junction and their impact on the community, whether through wonderful consumer engagement, charity events, rewards and promotions, or the ecosystem they’ve forged through collaboration. That evening adventure marked a fantastic start to the year within the Junction, so stay tuned for the next adventure in the World of Tahpin.
